    Duck Golf: Maple Ridge

    So Karin and I played Disc Golf this weekend (Jan 8th) in the 4th Duck Golf of the year (annual tournament series), it was our 3rd one this series, which is pretty good turnout for us.  It was a bit weird as we played 3 rounds of 12 holes instead of the normal 2 rounds of 18 holes.  The day saw variable weather, we had bright sunshine, hail, giant snowflakes and rain.  Karin took a number of pictures on her iPhone, but I’m not sure if she’s uploaded them to Flickr or not… maybe she’ll add one to this post later…

    In our wisdom of having played in these types of events previously we put a pot roast in our slow cooker before we left, so when we got home, just needed to take everything out, finish off the gravy and serve.  Ok, not quite true, as I decided to add corn and fresh buns to the menu, but it was a very little fuss dinner.

    I remember when you used to be able to get parbaked scissor rolls at Costco… but it’s been a long time since they’ve carried those, still one of my favourites though.  That said the buns that we got at Save-on-Foods were good enough that I’d recommend them to others.  I’m sure they are available other places as well, but that’s where we got Dempster White Dinner Rolls (note: sub-brand “OvenFresh”).  I think we’ve actually tried them all now: white baguette, multigrain baguette and rosemary and olive oil, and we’ve enjoyed them all.
